In a historic moment for Indian Punjabi music in New Zealand and globally, YOGI (Yogesh Rai @yogimusicnz) has released his latest single, “Billiyan Akhiyan,” a vibrant track that keeps you hooked.
The song, produced by Urban Singh and featuring Mubashara Maqbool and Jay in supporting roles, is brought to life visually through a stunning music video directed by Gurinder Randawa and label Big Shot Vibes. The video has already captured the hearts of fans worldwide, crossing over 1 million views on YouTube since its release in October 2025.
With Billiyan Akhiyan, YOGI becomes the first Indian Punjabi artist to receive funding from New Zealand’s NZ On Air, under their New Music Pan-Asian initiative. This funding recognizes the global reach of Indian Punjabi music and highlights the growing influence of the Punjabi community in New Zealand.
